Origin[]
Aiken Drum is a Scottish folk song character, and a variation on the Man in the Moon - originally portrayed as a Whig warrior fighting in the Battle of Sheriffmuir, he would eventually be revised over time into a children's nursery rhyme character who lives on the moon, who plays on a ladle and possesses a variety of bizarre food-themed clothing items - a hat made of cheese, a coat made of roast beef, buttons made of penny loaves, a waistcoat made of crust pies, and breeches made of haggis bags. More modern incarnations of the character will often spread the food theming to his physical body, such as hair made out of spaghetti, or eyes made out of either fried eggs or meatballs
