Algernon is a donkey who first appeared in the storyline, Mickey Mouse in Death Valley. Mickey used the donkey to break into Shyster’s office.
Suspicious of Shyster's motives, Mickey manages to get Minnie out of the office (with the help of Algernon) and they set off to explore the Mortimer estate, sensing that Shyster wants something that's in there.
