After witnessing a horrifying drive-by shooting which killed his parents, Andy Barlow joined the Dart as his sidekick, Ace the Amazing Boy.

He could fly just like Dart and wielded a baseball bat in combat.

- In Weird Comics #14, Miss Tilbury refers to him as "Barlow" in school. In Weird Comics #16, Ace refers to himself as "Ace Barlow" while in costume and fighting a crook. In Weird Comics #17 however, Miss Tilbury refers to him as Andy. From then on, Ace is referred to as "Andy" while in his civilian identity.
- For unknown reasons, Ace stops carrying around a bat with Weird Comics #17's story. It coincides with the same time the Dart loses his sword and also stopped using it subsequently.
