Origin[]
The Arctic Giant is a titanic carnivorous dinosaur (described as a Tyrannosaurus Rex) found preserved in a state of suspended hibernation in the glaciers of Siberia. The specimen was shipped to the Metropolis Museum of Natural History in the USA, where its body was put on display within its icy sarcophagus rigged with a specially designed refrigeration system.
Unfortunately, the generators powering the cooling system malfunctioned when a stray oil can fell into the turbines, causing the ice imprisoning the giant reptile to thaw and crumble off it. Gradually, the creature awoke from its prolonged dormancy and started wreaking havoc, tearing out of the museum and going on a rampage across the city - destroying many buildings, bridges, and the city dam in its wake. Luckily, the creature’s violent destruction was put to rest and the creature was placed in a special exhibit in the city zoo.
The Arctic Giant is incredibly tall and powerful, reaching several stories in height and can push its way through landmarks and other terrain with relative ease. Its incredibly thick, scaly armored skin is also impervious to most weapons, with bullets and highly-pressurized water hoses ricocheting off its body. It also has an appetite for smaller animals, capable of swallowing entire humans whole.
