Origin[]

Asmodeus is identified as the demon of lust. As the demon of lust, Asmodeus is believed to tempt humans into acts of excessive or inappropriate sexual behavior. His influence is said to lead people astray, causing them to indulge in their basest desires and lose their moral compass.

He is often depicted as a powerful and imposing figure with a mix of monstrous and human features. Often represented with three heads - one of a bull, one of a man, and one of a ram, symbolizing strength, intelligence, and lust, respectively. Possessing a long, winding serpentine tail, cloven feet or the feet of a rooster.

Asmodeus is a master of seduction, able to exploit human weaknesses and desires, making it difficult for individuals to resist his allure. Known for causing strife and infidelity within marriages, undermining the sacred bond between spouses. He can invade dreams, planting seeds of lustful thoughts and fantasies, which manifest in waking behavior.

Asmodeus has roots in various ancient traditions. In Jewish folklore, he is often associated with the demon Ashmedai, who appears in the Talmud and other texts. In the apocryphal Book of Tobit, Asmodeus is the demon who kills the seven husbands of Sarah before they can consummate their marriages. One old folktale had him posing and battling King Solomon in an epic sky battle.
