Origin[]
Bibendum is a large man made out of a stack of bicycle tires, most famously used as the mascot for the Michelin tire company. He wears pince-nez glasses and is often seen with a cigar. He enjoys drinking shards of glass out of a wine glass, in an allegorical reference to Michelin tires' durability. He is named for a Latin term meaning "to drink"
Notes[]
- Bibendum is still trademarked and in active use by the Michelin company, so he cannot be used to promote any other brand, only as a character within a story.
- The more modern, friendlier iterations of Bibendum remain copyrighted.
