Origin
Bill White was detective first class on the police force who worked in the homicide division. Investigating some brutal murders, he discovers they are being committed not by a human, but by a monster called Kemaha. Using a police woman named Ethyl Vance for bait, he fails to apprehend the creature, leaving Ethyl dead by its hands. Frustrated, he discovers some of the creature's peculiar footprints and follows them. They lead to his apartment, where the Kemaha waits inside to take over his identity.
