Origin[]
Blooperman was the heroic protector of Metroville and often assisted Police Commissioner Dolan on various cases. His arch foe was Badman, an incompetent villain in an ill-fitting batsuit assisted by Robber the Boy Plunder.
Badman and Robber kidnapped Blooperman and brought him to their Bad Cave where they use a hypnosis spray developed by Badman to turn the hero into a criminal like them. However, Blooperman managed to signal the Bestest League of America to save him before he fully succumbed to the hypnosis. The BLA overwhelm the criminals and send the pair to jail saving Blopperman in the process.
After the super heroes go on strike, Blooperman was unaware and saves an airplane only to be reprimanded by the BLA. He was also absent during the BLA's fight against the Marvelous Heroes and continues to be on strike even after the President and Comics Code put an end to the strike. This lead to the police arresting him for defying the orders of the president.
Powers and Abilities[]
In addition to having the proportionate strength of a rhinoceros beetle and the ability to soar like an eagle, Blooperman was also able to use his whistle to summon his friends in the Bestest League of America.
Like Captain Marvel, Crash Carlton used a magic word, "Shazoom!", to transform into Blooperman.
Public Domain Appearances[]
- Go-Go Comics #3-6
Notes[]
- The character is an obvious spoof of Superman as well as Captain Marvel.
- Blooperman is in the public domain thanks to a lack of a proper copyright notice (any work published without one between 1923 and 1977 immediately entered the public domain).
