Origin[]

Bruto is a Futurian robot built by Dr. Destructo. He was initially a servant to his creator but left the latter for unknown reasons. Bruto has primarily worked for the Black Knight of Pluto and Black Patch, thus forming the Black Trio: a league involving terminating Colonel Bleep and his deputies, Squeak and Scratch.

Powers[]

Bruto is the most intelligent of Dr. Destructo's minions, even when he chooses to work independently. Although he does not appear to fight with particular unique abilities, one known power given to Bruto is his hypnosis ability. This power was used once when he created two mind-controlling helmets for Bleep's deputies, making them helpless slaves to Bruto. When Colonel Bleep defeated Bruto and his comrades, the hypnotic control was no longer active.

  • For most of the surviving episodes, Bruto has been referred to as "The Black Robot," "The Wicked Black Robot," and "The Evil Black Robot". The Hypnotic Helmets is the only episode in which Bruto is called by his name.
  • Out of all the surviving episodes of Bruto, he has mainly worked for the Black Knight and Black Patch more than with Dr. Destructo.
  • He is the only leading villain not to own a primary vehicle. Meanwhile, Dr. Destructo owns a flying saucer, the Black Knight travels with a space scooter, and Black Patch flies his spaceship.
  • Although his eyes are primarily red, there was one error in The Malicious Mailman, where Bruto's eyes were green.
