- The strip Bungleton Green was created by Leslie Rogers and was a humor strip launched in 1920 in the African-American newspaper The Chigado Defender. Rogers was replaced by Harry Brown in 1928, Jay Jackson in 1936, the latter a pulp fiction artist. In November 1942, Jackson adopted a realistic style and exchanged humor for science fiction, making Green travel to the 21st century.
