- Despite Woody Woodpecker being heavily featured in Walter Lantz New Funnies 134, he does not enter the public domain until 2036 due to his debut cartoon still being under copyright.
- Buzz Buzzard was based on Ben Buzzard, a character from Donald Duck's short The Flying Jalopy.
- Buzz was going to have a cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but was later dropped for unknown reasons.
