The Camel is an ally of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit who helped him cross the dessert in the 1928 cartoon Harem Scarem.
During their journey across the sands, Oswald is attacked by a large bird. After vanquishing it with the help of the camel, Oswald attaches the bird's detached wings to the camel's sides, resulting in a speedy arrival at Oasis Bar, a Moroccan cafe.
At the cafe, Oswald sees a hula-hula charmer (Sadie) who fascinates him. However their time together is interrupted by a sheik (Pete) who arrives to kidnap the girl. Oswald, on his camel, pursues the sheik, and after a wild ride, saves the girl from the sheik's clutches.

- The camel would appear as a rare crew member for Oswald in Disney Speedstorm along with the Lifeguard and the Hotdog Customer.
- Harem Scarem is currently a lost cartoon, and as such, no film of this cartoon has been found though drawings from a small part of the film survive. The drawings were compiled by Disney into a video clip in 2012 as a D23 promotional featurette to help celebrate Oswald's eighty-fifth anniversary.
