Origin[]

After losing his sight as a child due to the murder of his parents, young Captain Hazzard spent fifteen years blind, during which time he developed a unique extrasensory perception. This ability allowed him to sense the world around him in extraordinary ways, compensating for his lack of vision. His life changed again when a revolutionary surgical procedure restored his vision, leaving a striking scar over his left eye as a reminder.

Operating out of Hazzard Labs on Long Island, Captain Hazzard assembled a team of experts to aid him in his adventures and rescue missions around the world:

  • Dr. Martin Tracy: A brilliant surgeon with an analytical mind.
  • Professor Washington MacGowen: A renowned physicist responsible for developing advanced technologies.
  • Tyler Randell: A skilled inventor and fearless pilot, always ready for action.
  • Jake Cole: A resilient cowboy with practical survival and combat skills.
  • William Crawley: An inquisitive reporter, always in search of the truth, who documents the group's adventures.

Even with his sight restored, Captain Hazzard retains his psychic abilities, including the ability to communicate telepathically with his allies. Together, they travel the world, facing dangers, helping those in need, and diving into adventures full of action and mystery.

Notes[]

Captain Hazzard was a science fiction character published in a single issue of a pulp magazine in 1938 by Ace Magazines. Created as an attempt to compete with the iconic Doc Savage, Captain Hazzard shared similar characteristics, including a team of specialists who assisted him in his adventures and a narrative centered on missions full of action and mystery.

The only issue of the magazine featured the story "Python Men of the Lost City," written by Chester Hawks (a pseudonym for Paul Chadwick, the real author). The magazine was canceled before releasing a second issue. However, Chadwick took the story planned for the next issue and adapted it into a short story about the character Secret Agent X, also created by him. This new version was titled "Curse of the Crimson Horde."
