  • Captain Thunder was the original name considered for Captain Marvel. Some historians have assumed that since Fiction House already had a Captain Thunder, Fawcett changed the name to Captain Marvel, but Jim Steranko's "History of Comics Part 2" stated that the name change was a Fawcett editorial decision, and in the Fawcett - National lawsuit, Fawcett editor Ralph Daigh testified that the name change was his idea.
    • Though, there is another Captain Thunder, created by DC Comics as an analogue to Captain Marvel, before they gained the rights to Captain Marvel.
