Golden Age Origin
"Chop Suey" was a young Chinese boy whose real name never actually appeared in any stories. When he overheard Japanese military commanders plotting to kill Captain Aero, he rushed to warn the famed American aviator. The grateful captain took the boy under his wing and dubbed him "Chop Suey." The fact that the boy had a real name (or that the nickname was kind of insulting) didn't seem to occur to the good captain. To be fair, Chop Suey didn't seem to particularly mind. He assisted Captain Aero with unwavering loyalty and dedication for the remainder of his appearances.
