Elves, within Christmas mythos, are Santa Claus' servants, who toil at his workshop designing toys. They are often said to live millions of years, but uphold a perpetually youthful appearance. They are typically humanoid figures dressed in either green or red, but may sometimes take on a more animalistic appearances. Some interpretations of the Santa mythos may depict Santa himself as an elf. Hermey the Misfit Elf is a notable pop-cultural elf.
