Origin[]
Churchill "Churchy" LaFemme is a mud turtle known for his penchant for composing absurd songs and poems filled with nonsensical rhymes. His name humorously nods to the French phrase "Cherchez la femme." Notoriously superstitious, Churchy famously panics over trivial things, like when Friday the 13th happens to fall on a Wednesday. Often entangled in Howland Owl's wild schemes, Churchy is quick to engage in both verbal and physical tussles. He made his debut as a buccaneer in Animal Comics #13, donning a pirate's hat and earning the title "Cap'n LaFemme," though he's more apt to pretend to be a pirate than actually live the life of one.
