When the sorcerer, Count Larue, discovered his first wife, Jewel had magical powers, he attempted to neutralize her by giving her a potion that put her to sleep for a hundred years. However, in revenge, she put a spell on the count causing him to transform into a photophobic monster during the day which is called the Monster of the Moat.
Jack Hendrix, a bypasser, later recuses Jewel from her imprisonment by her evil sorcerer husband. On coming out of her trance, Jewel used her powers to "free" the other wives of the Count, whose lives he had magically preserved, by causing them to die.
The pair try to escape with the Count's treasures and are attack by him in his monster form. Jack used the cursed blade, which is the only thing that can hurt the count, to supposedly slay the creature. With the monster gone, Jack then marries Jewel, but things turn out badly because the monster of the moat did not die and wants its revenge!
The count tracks the couple down to the beach where they are celebrating their honeymoon and kills Jewel as she lost her magic she she married a mortal. In retaliation, Jack takes the cursed blade and kills Count Larue. The authorities then arrived on the scene to see Jack standing above the corpses in shock.
Powers and Abilities[]
In addition to his abilities in sorcery, the curse placed on him by his first wife transforms the count into a amphibious monster during the day. The only object that can hurt him is the cursed blade.
