Vincente Pagini was a washed up, and drunk, opera singer who wanted to make a comeback, but several people mocked him after his performance. For revenge, he went on a murderous rampage dressed in a Crow's costume and died shortly after battling the Black Hood.

- Bullfrog's origin was re-used by comic creator William Woolfolk three years later in issue #14 of Black Hood Comics. In the 1945 story, the Black Hood was confronted by an opera singer named the Crow instead of the Bullfrog.
