Origin[]

The Dancing Tree is a character who debuted in Springtime, a Silly Symphonies animated Disney short film released October 24, 1929.

In the cartoon, flowers, ladybugs, centipedes, birds, and frogs dance in time to the usual blend of themes from the classical music such as "Morning Mood" from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt, Franz von Blon's "Whispering Flowers", Amilcare Ponchielli's music for "Dance of the Hours" and Jacques Offenbach's "Gaîté Parisienne".

The Dancing Tree is shown dancing and taking a shower during a rainstorm. After being hit by a lightning bolt and having its bark removed from its backside, The tree runs away in embarrassment.
