The Darterfly was a species of extraterrestrial insect native to the planet Venus. It resembled a large butterfly, but it spit deadly poison darts that could kill.
During a hunting expedition on Venus led by Chet Fields, another memeber of the expedition, Magda Duprey, saw Darterfly but mistook it for normal butterfly instead. Her uncle, Wagner Duprey pushed her out of the way before it could kill her with its poison darts. He saved his niece in time with the poison instead hitting and killing one of the Venusians instead of the girl.
