Historical Background[]
Davy Crockett is best known as a fearless American frontiersman who died at the Battle of the Alamo with his friend, Jim Bowie, when they refused to surrender to overwhelming odds. He was also a congressman for limited government and a member of the Freemason Society. He was involved in a number of battles over the course of his life, and is known for wearing an iconic 'coon-skin hat.
