Origin[]
Dora Standpipe is the shared fiance of all three Dover Boys who is educated at Miss Cheddar's Female Academy - she and the Dovers' idea of a "date" is to play juvenile games like hide & seek. Dan Backslide pines over Dora Standpipe('s father's money) and attempts to kidnap her while she is playing hide & seek - although she acts vulnerable and primarily cries for help, she proves to be more than capable and immensely powerful, throwing Dan Backslide across the room whenever he tries to stop her from calling for help, to the point where Dan becomes the one asking for help. In the end, after the Dovers accidentally hit one another while attempting to attack Backslide, Dora walks off with a nameless drunken sailor man who appears as a running gag throughout the short.
