Dudley was a good hearted but not too bright young student from Cherryvale whose principal interests in life were girls and food, not necessarily in that order. He tended to get into trouble a lot, often due to becoming involved in get-rich-quick schemes dreamed up by his buddy, Milt Magee, who considered himself the brains of the outfit but was really no smarter than Dudley. Other members of Dudley's supporting cast included his little brother 'Spurs' (who dressed as a cowboy) and Milt's sister Mona, who had an unrequited love for Dudley.
