Origins[]
Elmer Elevator is the narrator's father who ran away with an old alley cat to rescue a flying baby dragon being exploited on a faraway island of Wild Island. Determined to save the dragon from its cruel captors, Elmer sets out on an adventurous expedition, armed with little more than his wits and a few basic supplies - consisting of two dozen pink lollipops, rubber bands, chewing gum, and a fine-toothed comb - disarming the fiercest of beasts on Wild Island.
Physically, Elmer is described as small and wiry, with a mop of unruly hair and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He may seem unassuming at first glance, but he possesses a remarkable ingenuity and resilience that enable him to overcome various challenges throughout his quest. Along the way, he forms unlikely friendships with a host of characters, including a resourceful mouse and a helpful hippo, who aid him in his quest.
