Origin[]

Loud and boisterous, Fruit Brute is a suspenders-wearing werewolf who loves telling people about the howling-good taste of his fruit-flavored cereal. This brings great annoyance to his peers, Count Chocula and Frankenberry, who are irritated by his howling and try to push Fruit Brute out of their debate of which cereal is better, similar to their treatment of Boo Berry. Their attempts, however, are futile, as Fruit Brute’s persistence and loud howl ultimately prove victorious in the end.

Which were required for pre-recorded programs on TV (including commercials) until at least March 1989 when notices were no longer required for commercials and pre-recorded media to gain protection and were only required on the master tapes. The original cereal boxes also contained no notices and are considered the first published appearance of the characters since they are considered printed material. The original box of Fruit Brute also did not have copyright notices.
- Fruit Brute is still trademarked by General Mills, so the character’s name and appearance can only be used within the interior of a story, not to promote a brand.
