Goody Tiptoes is the diligent little squirrel wife of Timmy Tiptoes. She wears a pink dress and apron. They live in a nest thatched with leaves in the top of a tall tree, gathering nuts to prepare for winter, hiding them in trees. She helps gather nuts and later searches for her husband. While looking for Timmy, Goody comes across Chippy’s wife, and together they search for their missing husbands. When they are found, Timmy is too fat to get out of the tree trunk. Eventually, high winds blow the top of the tree and Timmy is able to go home to Goody. Her husband now keeps the family nuts "fastened up with a little padlock" and Goody is seen in the accompanying illustration sitting outside the nest tending three tiny babies.
