The Green Trashcan, whose secret identity was test pilot "Thud" Jargon, was a superhero and self-appointed leader of the Bestest League of America. His teammates included Lean Arrow, I.P.O.M., Aquariuman, S'amm S'mmith the Martian Manhandler, The Cash, Wondrous Woman, and Aukman. He was an ally of Blooperman and fought villains such as Badman and Robber the Boy Plunder.
He along with the rest of the BLA saved the kidnapped & hypnotized Blooperman from Badman & Robber. After sending the criminals to jail he leads role call and tries to collect the team's monthly dues. However once Wondrous Woman arrived all the male heroes attempt to chase after her only to be threatened with being smacked by her tiara.
Green Trashcan then received a phone call from Julie Schmartz, their union president. Julie informs Green Trashcan that a superhero strike has been called in collaboration with Stan Wee, the union president of the Marvelous Heroes.
Green Trashcan goes to meet with the Marvelous Heroes at their headquarters only to be thrown out by the rival heroes. He then gathers the league an the two groups begin to battle it out. However, their respective union presidents arrive to tell them the strike is over due the US President and the Comics Code declaring the strike unethical.
Powers and Abilities[]
Green Trashcan possessed a Smell-O-Ring which would release a noxious odor when activated. To recharge his ring he would recite an oath at the city dump where he kept his green trash can. The oath was "In rundown shack or circus tent, no evil shall escape this gent! Let those who are on evil bent, beware my power Green Trashcan's scent!"
Public Domain Appearances[]
- Alter Ego #1-2
- Go-Go Comics #4-6
Notes[]
- The character is an obvious spoof of Green Lantern.
- Green Trashcan is in the public domain thanks to a lack of a proper copyright notice (any work published without one between 1923 and 1977 immediately entered the public domain).
