Hartilaf is a giant who lives with his wife in a valley next to the Land of Mo. Their home is as large as a village, and Hartilaf is so big that he can make a journey to Alaska or South America and be home by sundown. Hartilaf and his wife are quite pleasant and befriended Prince Fiddlecumdoo of Mo when he visited their valley, greatly enjoying his violin music.
