Secret Origin

Evil Villian "Great Question" was known for his ongoing rivalry with amazing man. In an attempt to create the ultimate super villian Great Question would seek out the ultimate foe for Amazing Man. After a powerful telephatic search throughout the world Great Question discovered the secret power of Gordon Gumry.

Gordon Gumry was a lab assitant to a brilliant, yet unknown scientist. The scientist had secretly invented a gene manipluation machine, which could give one the power of Infinity. After realizing the power of infinity was to powerful for anyone, he attempted to destroy the machine. Gordon Gumry and the Scientist began to dismantle the gene manipulation machine. During the process Gordon Gumry was exposed to Gene Manipulation Radiation. As a result he possessed the power of infinity, which allowed him to have any super power that he dreamed of.

Gumry, a man of ethics, knew his new found power was too strong for the world. With the assitance of the scientist he was placed in a self endosed coma by a secret serum. While in a comma, Gumry would be cared for by the scientist for several years.

When Great Question discovered the comma induced Gumry, he used his secret powers to awaken him. While under the control of Great Question, Gumry would awaken out of the comma to kill his dear friend the scientist. Great Question's strong telepathy still was not able to control all of the infinite power Gumry possessed, but was able to unlock one power at a time.

Part of Great Question's scheme involved Gumry posing as famous super heroes at different moments. While secretly posing as heroes such as Flag, Bulletman, and Captain Fearless, Gumry would often come in contact with Amazing Man. Because of Great Questions unability to control all of Gumry's power at once, each personality was still not able to defeat Amazing Man, therefore Gumry would be a vital spy for Great Question and the Council of Seven.

As Blue Beetle

Under Great Question's secret power, Gumry posed as the famousBlue Beetle. Unknown to Great Question, each Great Question changed Gumry's personality to pose as another super hero, his telepathic control was weakening. Consequently, while posing as Blue Beetle, Gumry came to his senses, his memory was completly restored and the telepathic bond was broken. While wearing the Blue Beetle's costume he realized that he accepted his destiny as a super hero, but was over taken with guilt due to being manipulated by Great Question

Human Fly is Born

Ironically, Great Question subconsciencly tuaght Gumry that his infinity power could be controlled if the powers were used one at a time. Gumry would become a secret ally to the super heroes seeking no glory for himself. He would often relieve super heroes so they could experience time with their families, go on vacation, or to fight super villians more powerful than themselves.

Gumry now consider himself as a fly on the wall of the world, observing the lives of super heroes and villians, while unknown to the rest of the world. While not posing as another super heroe, he would wear a variation of the Blue Beetle's uniform.
