Origin[]
Meet Ian Heath, a volunteer American officer stationed in Australia during World War II. Known as the "Iron Corporal," Heath's ribs were surgically replaced with iron-steel bracing by his industrialist father following an unfortunate mugging incident. This unique feature made his chest impenetrable, allowing him to perform daily activities with ease. However, it came with one drawback: swimming was impossible for Heath, as he would sink like a rock if submerged in deep water.

Notes[]
- The Iron Corporal's debut issue is in the public domain thanks to a lack of a proper copyright notice (any work published without one between 1923 and 1977 immediately entered the public domain).
