The woman known as Iron Lady was Doris Parker, daughter of the tobacco king Walter Parker. Mr. Parker was a rich collector and purchased a pair of rare metal gloves when he was in France. Upon his return trip home he is confronted by men wanting the gloves and not getting them they kill him and put him in his trunk. weeks later Doris receives her fathers trunk and is horrified to find his body inside along with the gloves. Doris reads the tag on the gloves "made by a Swiss watchmaker and later used to execute criminals in Hungary". She then decides to use them to fight crime as the Iron Lady to avenge her father's death. She hides her gloves in a white fur muff and is sometimes called "the Muff" because of this.
