Origin[]

The Itsy Bitsy Spider, known as the Incy Wincy Spider in some regions and originally titled the Bloody Blooming Spider is the protagonist of a children's nursery rhyme known for attempting climb a waterspout outside of a house, before being washed out by a sudden bout of rain, then attempting again once the rain ends (seemingly going on in a perpetual loop) - in the original incarnation of the story, the Bloody Blooming Spider, it instead climbs up a spider-web. The song is typically told to and by children by using a hand pattern where fingers from both sides are touched together and alternated to resemble a spider walking.
