Origin[]
Jane (her last name is not given) is the daughter of Wendy Darling and appears briefly in most versions of the story as the one to follow Peter Pan to Neverland after Wendy has grown up and lost the ability to fly.
Jane eventually marries and has a daughter, Margaret. In Barrie's original story, Peter flies away with Margaret and "thus it will go on," meaning Peter will come for each of Wendy's female descendants when they are young, and he never grows up "for as long as children believe in fairies."
Notes[]
- The Peter Pan play is in the public domain in the United States (as of 2024), but not the United Kingdom. as Special legislation was passed that gave the play a perpetual copyright. The characters, however, are in the public domain (as are the novels).
