Jane Wells, the governor’s daughter—and possibly Lt. Dick Jones’s girlfriend—is kidnapped by the infamous undersea pirate known as the Steel Shark. Her abduction triggers a naval rescue mission led by Lt. Jones, who is stationed on Monango Island. Caught in the conflict between the Navy and the technologically advanced submarine of the Steel Shark, Jane becomes the central figure whose capture sets the entire adventure in motion.
