Jesseva was engaged to Danx, another Munchkin. Danx was turned to stone by an accidental spilling of the Liquid of Petrifaction, so Jesseva decided to go with Ojo to collect items needed to revive Danx and the other petrified people. She asked her father, Dr. Pipt, to shrink Danx, so she could carry him with her on the journey.
