Thomas Huxley Andover was the top scholar of the university's science department and also a talented sculptor. He was recruited by Professor Homer to prove his theory that the next champion boxer should be selected based on brain power instead of brute force. They name him Kid Adonis due to his resemblance to the mythic figure that he was sculpting when they were introduced.
Boxing promoter Aces Dealer sees a newspaper article about Kid Adonis and decided to have his boxer Gorilla Braggart meet him. The two get in a treet brawl only for Gorilla to show up Adonis. Thomas then begins to train for his upcoming fights including a rematch with Gorilla. At the seaside training camp, Kid adonis develops his powerful six inch punch called the Calculus Punch. The professor instructs him to save this punch fro the championship match.
After Kid Adonis defeated boxers Hangnail Hampton and Sledge Waite, He earned the right to challenge the champ Gorilla Braggart. Aces Dealer has wealthy child prodigy Pan Arden play a practical joke on Kid Adonis using sound-waves created from his radiophone to make the boxer feel inebriated. The professor discovered Kid Adonis and helped him regain his senses just in time to make it to the boxing match.
Kid Adonis knocks out Gorilla Braggart with just one his Calculus Punches and becomes the new champion forcing Aces Dealer to turn to a new scam to make money. After the match, Professor Homer brings Pan Arden to Kid Adonis to be punished with a spanking.
After reading about the supposed alien from Saturn called Superior Male, Professor Homer and Kid Adonis arrive in New York City to see the him with their own eyes. After Superior Male's promoter, Aces Dealer, recognized Kid Adonis as the world champion, the promoter issued a challenge to have Kid Adonis fight Superior Male. Eventually Kid Adonis agreed to a exhibition match with the supposed alien.
After taking the signature Calculus Punch from Kid Adonis, Superior Male's shirt ripped open revealing he was wearing a metal jacket. Turns out Superior Male was actually from Poughkeepsie not Saturn. He then also revealed that he used to a circus strongman and stuntman who wanted to get into the movies.
