Origin[]

Korak the Killer is actually Jack Clayton, the son of the hero, Tarzan, born shortly after he married Jane Porter. As an infant, Jack was kidnapped by two of Tarzan's enemies but later retrieved by his father. The rest of his chronology seems a bit fuzzy (logically paradoxical), but it seems that he spent some time in England, but most of his youth on his family's estate in British East Africa. Around the age of 10, he is kidnapped again and taken to Africa, but after escaping, he ends up remaining in the jungle for several years, where he learns to live like his father did. He makes an ally of an ape named Akut.

While living in the jungle, he rescues a young Arab girl named Meriem, from a beating. Korak acts as her protector for many years, carrying for her like a brother, while they live alone in the jungle before they are separated. After many adventures, they are reunited and eventually marry. The two are also reunited with their parents, and Korak learns that Meriem is actually a princess.

Korak was later used as a supporting character in other Tarzan books, but it appears to be unclear how old he actually was at the time of those stories, or exactly how those stories fit into the Tarzan chronology.
