Origin[]
Maggie is the matronly wife of Jiggs with a no-nonsense attitude. She is the dominant force in the household, often scheming to improve their social standing or maintain appearances in the face of her husband's antics. She is resourceful, practical, and not afraid to speak her mind, frequently berating Jiggs for his laziness and lack of refinement.
Maggie is portrayed as having aspirations of climbing the social ladder, which often puts her at odds with Jiggs' more laid-back approach to life. She is determined to fit in with high society and is quick to correct Jiggs' behavior when he embarrasses her in front of their new friends. She often wears fashionable dresses, typically accessorized with a hat.
Despite her frequent frustration with Jiggs and fighting, Maggie genuinely cares for him and often finds herself begrudgingly indulging his whims. The couple also have two children; a daughter named Nora and a son named Ethelbert.
