Origin[]

Richard Staegal, a wealthy socialite, made a pact with his fiancée, Betty Hayler, that they would live an adventurous life together. This prompted Richard to create the persona of the Man in Purple, a Robin Hood-like figure who wore a purple suit and mask. He would rob wealthy individuals who gained their riches off the backs of "widows and orphans" and then donate these riches to charity, with the assistance of both his fiancé and his chauffeur, Broph.

Powers and Abilities[]

The costume he wore was made of a special material that dissolved quickly in acid. He always carried a vial of acid on him so that he could dispose of his costume quickly.
