21-year-old Margie Albright lives with her widowed father, 50 year-old Verne Albright, in an apartment at the Carlton Arms Hotel in New York City. Intelligent, quick-witted, and resourceful, she often found herself entangled in humorous situations due to her mischievous nature and tendency to meddle in other people's affairs. Despite her playful demeanor, Margie possessed a kind heart and always had good intentions.
Margie is ambitious and career-oriented, which is quite progressive for the time. Despite her penchant for getting into amusing predicaments, she is also portrayed as competent and capable. She often pursues various jobs and endeavors, showcasing her versatility and determination to succeed on her own terms.
Verne Albright works as the vice-president of the investment firm of Honeywell & Todd, under the employ of George Honeywell and Todd. Margie is extremely close to her father and often uses her ingenuity to help him out of sticky situations, much to his bemusement and occasional exasperation. While she often found herself in romantic entanglements, her relationship with her father and her pursuit of personal and professional fulfillment always remained paramount.
Margie is a social butterfly who enjoyed mingling with people from all walks of life and was popular among her peers due to her outgoing nature and magnetic personality. Her close friends include Roberta (Verne's girlfriend) and Freddy Wilson. Margie's impeccable fashion sense made her a style icon of the era, with her sophisticated attire reflecting 1950s trends such as tailored suits, elegant dresses, and glamorous accessories.
