Origin[]
Mia is a Native American maiden created in 1928 by Brown & Bigelow illustrator Authur C. Hanson. She is depicted kneeling, in profile, on a wooded lake shore. Mia was specifically designed as a young woman in traditional dress, kneeling in front of a lake, and holding a stick of butter in her hands.
