Mike Danger is a private detective in New York City at the Hackard building with his secretary Velda.

He's introduced in his first appearance as "He's rough...he's tough...he's terrific! 190 pounds of muscle...and afraid of nothing! He backs up the law with his two fists and a .45 slung under his left armpit, ready to slug or shoot it out anyplace anytime! Yes, meet Mike...but be smiling when you do!"

Public Domain Comic Appearances[]

  • Crime Detector #3-4

Notes[]

  • Mike Lancer appeared in only one story in Green Hornet Comics #10 published by Harvey Comics. A few years later, Mickey Spillane recreated the detective as Mike Hammer, who starred in a series of books indicated in I, the Jury (1947), soon after, soon after, he published the character as Mike Danger in Crime Detector #3 (1954) published by Timor Publications.
  • In the series Danger and Adventure from Charlton Comics, a Fawcett Comics character, detective Mike Barnett, is renamed to Mike Danger when his stories are reprinted. There does not seem to be a connection between the two characters outside of name and occupation.
