Misto was the native queen of the Diamond Isles who was rumored to have died 20 years before the start of the story. She had been living in New York City but sensing her time is short decided to return to her homeland.
Misto heads to the docks and seeks passage to the Diamond Isles aboard Captain Ted's ship the Dainty Jade. The captain agrees to take her as far as the mists that hide the isles as he is delivering cargo to the same area for his clients Bill and Marty who unknown to Bill are actually weapon smugglers.
However once out to sea, Bill and Marty take over the ship and shoot Captain Ted in the arm. Misto secretly talks with the captain and makes him agree to play along with her plan and navigate the ship safely to the isles knowing she could stop the mutineers once they arrive in her homeland.
Once they arrive, Misto is greeted by the natives but Captain Ted notices that she is beginning to visibly age rapidly. She reveals to the captain that her time of death is long past but she had to return to the island or her spirit would wander aimlessly for eternity.
Meanwhile Bill and Marty assemble their smuggled machines guns and begin shooting up any natives in their way. Misto decides to stop them by luring them into shark invested waters. After they are defeated Misto waves goodbye to Captain Ted and his first mate Tanaka as she aged rapidly to her death.
