Mister Keeper was a ghost whose job it was to oversee which souls would go to Heaven at their predestined times. Due to his mistake, the life of a young man was cut tragically short by some seventy-five years. Saint Peter attempted to correct the error made by Keeper and assigned him to act as guide and mentor to the kid. Mr. Keeper accompanied him back to Earth who apologized for his untimely death by giving Kid exceptional super powers, including the ability to summon anyone from history or mythology by saying the word "Eternity". The young man would then be known as Kid Eternity.
