Mr. Peanut is an anthropomorphic peanut who wears a top hat, shoes, white gloves, black tights, and a monocle. He usually carries a cane.
Notes[]
- In November 2010, The New Yorker published a spoof confession by Mr. Peanut that he is gay and in a relationship with his new sidekick, Benson.
- Artist Vincent Trasov, dressed as Mr. Peanut, ran as a joke candidate in the 1974 Vancouver, British Columbia, civic elections.
- In January 2020, Planters killed the character in a tragic, but heroic, end with his funeral being attended by other advertising icons such as Mr. Clean and the Kool-Aid Man. The following month, however, he was reborn as "Baby Nut" (a new character which is not in the public domain) in a Superbowl ad.
