Origin[]

The Raven, self-identified (under dubious understanding of the question) as Nevermore, is the main antagonist of the iconic poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. As the grieving protagonist, who has just lost a lover named Lenore, studies forgotten lore, the Raven sits on his bust of Pallas, repeatedly tormenting him by answering "Nevermore" to all of his questions. Due to the intentional ambiguousness of the poem, it has become very popular for interpretations. Although most consider the bird to represent the narrator's grief, at least one interpretation sees him as a magical punishment for him going over possibly dark-magic related tombs as stated in the beginning of the poem.
