Origin[]
Early in Peter and Wendy, a closing window severs Peter Pan from his shadow, causing the two to become separate living entities. Several days later, Peter's return to find his shadow precipitates the major action of the story: the Darling children's flight to Neverland.
Wendy is later able to sew Peter and his shadow back together.
