Origin[]
Peter Porker is an anthropomorphic pig wearing plaid pants who goes on adventures with a young boy with a gnome-like cap named Billy Bimbo. They are the stars of the 1920s newspaper comic strip Billy Bimbo and Peter Porker by British artist Harry Folkard which ran from 1920-1925 in the London Evening News. Most gags featured the pair pulling pranks and then being punished.
The comic strip was a huge success in The Netherlands at the time, where it ran under the translated title Jopie Slim and Dikkie Bigmans from 1921 on.
