Origin[]

Pitch (known as "Precio" in Spanish) is the devilish primary antagonist of the 1959 film Santa Claus. He is the chief lieutenant and servant of Lucifer assigned with the task of spreading evil on Earth, particularly during the Christmas season, by trying to make children misbehave and lose their belief in Santa Claus.

Pitch is mischievous, cunning, and flamboyantly theatrical, often employing trickery and manipulation to tempt children into committing bad deeds. Throughout the film, he faces off against Santa Claus, using various antics to try and thwart Santa's efforts to spread joy and kindness to the world. Despite his best attempts, Pitch is portrayed as more comical than truly menacing, often falling prey to Santa's pranks and even his own tricks.

Powers & Abilities[]

Being a supernatural entity, Pitch displays some interesting abilities. He is seemingly invisible to normal people and can teleport around instantaneously (though it’s unclear how far). He is also shown influencing people's dreams by either blowing or whispering into their ear. He can breath and cast fire with a flick of his hand, and despite his scrawny appearance, also possesses superhuman strength.

However, Pitch is quite vulnerable to cold temperatures, preferring to be in Hell's blazing inferno rather than the winter seasons on Earth. This is further reinforced by Lucifer threatening to punish him by force-feeding him chocolate ice cream if he failed in his task, to which he is also lactose intolerant.
